Garhdoul Archaeological Site, Tarajan, Jumargaon (7 kms from Tezpur)
The Garhdoul Archaeological Site is surrounded by a brick reinforced rampart or garh in all directions. The site has two brick mounds which are believed to have contained remains of two temples (douls). Hence, the site is called Garhdoul meaning temples surrounded by a rampart. The brick mounds are situated almost at the centre of the site. Excavations conducted at the two mounds revealed the remains of two brick-built temples.
